James Mowat Elementary

We are an outstanding school that provides a top notch education to children in kindergarten through to grade six. Learning Support, monthly character education assemblies and RAINBOWS,  are just some of the programs that make our school great.

We also offer a variety of extra-curricular activities including intramurals, choir, safety patrol, student council, track teams, rocket club, school safety patrol, tech club, chess club and a grade six badminton team.

We have once again been approved for working the Casino in Camrose.  This is a major fundraiser for us and with a new playground in the works (see our February newletter) it will be a huge boost to our playground funds.

We are looking for one or two people to Chair the Casino Committee. The previous Chair will provide all of the training and support you in any way that they can. If you are interested in taking on this exciting position, please call Mrs. Sorochan.

In order to accommodate the number of students taking the bus, to and from school, the Transportation Department has had to add a second bus transfer at James Mowat.  This means that we needed to designated another "Bus Only" parking zone.  Starting in mid January the area between the two driveways will be designated as "Bus Only" between the hours of  8:00-9:00 a.m. and 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. There have been new neon signs posted to identify the new area.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we make this adjustment.
