Every Monday at 10:15 a.m., students come to the gym and they work in small circles that include Kindergarten through grade 6 students. The grade 6 students taking a strong leadership role in their circle, which stays the same for the entire year.
This program is designed to help students learn qualities that will help them to succeed both academically and socially. It also gives a common focus and a common language that is used by the staff and students when discussing school expectations for behaviour. As a school, we focus on being respectful, responsible and safe as well as growth mindset and the ZONES of regulation. For the 2018-19 school year, we will also continue to have an First Nations, Métis and Inuit focus during our circles.
