Did you know that participating in extracurricular activities and clubs help prepare students for secondary and post-secondary school as well as the work force? These clubs help teach students responsibility along with skills and abilities that will serve them well throughout their lives and careers!
Here are the fantastic extracurricular activities and clubs that students can join. All programs are run by our amazing teachers who volunteer their time!
Badminton Club
- runs mid-April to the end of May
- open to grade 6 students
Basketball Team
- open to students in grades 5 & 6
- runs January and February
- Practices are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch recess
Chess Club
- runs end of January through March
- open to gr. 4 - 6
Choir
- open to students in grades 3 - 6
- runs in the fall and the spring
Handchimes
- open to students in gr. 5 & 6
- runs in the fall and the spring
Jump Rope Club
- runs Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday @lunch recess in the month of February in conjunction with Jump Rope for Heart
- open to grade 1 to 6
Newspaper Club
- grade 4, 5 & 6 students
- runs on Thursdays at lunch recess for the whole year
- Students publish a school newspaper called News from the Nest
School Safety Patrol
- open to students in grade 5 & 6
- before and after school, students patrol our 2 cross-walks in teams of two
Student Council
- in the fall, representatives from gr. 4, 5 and 6 classes are chosen
- plan and facilitate many activities throughout the year
- help with our character education program and weekly circles
SYNC (Seniors & Youth Networking Communities)
- open to students in gr. 5 & 6 with different grades participating each month
- visit to Southfort Bend Gardens once a month
Track Team
- open to students in grades 4, 5 & 6
- runs January, February, April & May
- Monday and Wednesday mornings 7:45am - 8:15am
